I was born and raised in San Jose, California in 1978. Art has always been my favorite past-time, and although I have tried various mediums, I had an idea one day to create a modern day multimedia painting. I begin with a line drawing by hand, scan the image into my computer, digitally paint and print using archival ink and acid free paper. Then, I hand embellish each piece individually using glitter, gel pen and acrylic gems. I print in limited editions and choose my mat and framing colors and styles unique for each piece.

Many people ask me where my inspiration lies. It may be a particular song that I am listening to, or a thought that enters my mind, and if I tap into it, the drawing is born rather easily and the mood is transformed right onto paper. I truly get swept away and it’s a wonderful feeling. John Lennon said he had to keep a notebook with him at all times, because when an inspiration came for a song and he didn’t write it down straight away, it was lost. I have learned it to be the same with art. I cannot capture the true essence and real energy into the drawing quite as easily, if at all, if it isn’t done in the midst of what I am thinking and feeling. Collectively, my artwork has become a pictorial journal, only I hope others can also relate in some way to what they see.
